Part of operating our team in a financially thrifty manner means getting value from old equipment and turning some of that equipment over each year. This is not always an easy process and is often time consuming. As our staff are all volunteers, we knew we needed help and expertise. This is why we are proud to announce Frame and Wheel as our official online re-selling service. Frame and Wheel provides online re-selling services to cyclists and bike shops throughout New England, adding to the list of local partners of our program. The company also provides commercial imaging services and media to the bicycle industry. Frame and Wheel is a division of the Thomas Cycling Group International, Inc which also has interests in performance carbon fiber bicycles and broadcast entertainment (All Things Bike with Fred Thomas).
The company is based in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and Fred himself is a staple of the New England racing community, so his familiarity with CCB and what we are all about made this a natural fit. Frame and Wheel takes on a huge chunk of the logistics of executing our financial plan of multiple revenue streams for increased sustainability and we are so thankful to have a partner that is as passionate about of mission as we are:
From Fred Thomas, founder and president of Frame and Wheel:
“The model CCB has developed is innovative and smart. It allows talented, young riders to compete at the UCI level in the United States, Europe and Asia without requiring them to sacrifice their commitment to higher education. These guys will be able to race against the pros, finish school and then decide whether or not to pursue racing at the next level. Additionally, the model allows individuals and organizations to donate old cycling gear to the team so that it can be turned into cash and used for the budget. Frame and Wheel is very pleased to be doing that work for CCB Velotooler so that they can focus on the racing. Time. Space. Cash. Pick Three!”
